2602 NW 8TH ST

Architects, Naturalists, Botanists, Historians take note. Nearing completion is this extensive renovation to rescue and revitalize this Gainesville Classic Vernacular 3BR/1BA home circa 1927.  That is it has the deeply recessed porch fronted by columns from floor to ceiling.   Every effort has been made to retain the authenticity of its original design including custom milling heart wood pine and importing Bead Board to match the existing walls for example. Everything is wood: the floors, walls and ceilings.

This Historic home sits on over an acre of land. You might think this was out in the country and, when it was built in 1927, it was on the outskirts; however, most would now consider it in the heart of the city.

Imagine having your own orchard.  You need dream no longer; the property comes with a wide variety of fruits including: Satsuma, Apple, Pink Grapefruit, Peach , Italian Blood Orange, Nectarine, Chinese Honey, Meyers Lemon, Dancy Tangerine, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Sour Orange (makes Marmalade),  Blueberries, Kumquat, Calmonda Sour, Persimmons, Mercot, and many more.  Pick your breakfast off the trees!

To provide convenience and comfort we have redecorated the bathroom and added a vanity in the front bedroom  to alleviate contention on the main bathroom.  We retained the vintage cabinetry in the kitchen and otherwise refurbished and repainted.

Renovation also included a new full sized washer and dryer, refrigerator and 5 new A/C window units (not original but had to do it).  The renovation includes much more but we can discuss it more when you tour the home.

I look forward to talking with you and hope this truly unique home will be right for you.

No smoking, pets considered.

Available Fall 2025 at $1,848 per month + utilities.
